Trick a Keurig Machine Into Using any Cup with Scissors and Tape

Keurig machines have become a staple of the modern kitchen with their Jetsons-style push button coffee. The cost is that you have to use often overpriced K-cups. Not anymore, though.

As the video above demonstrates, you can trick your Keurig into using cups from much cheaper sources by taking the lid from a discarded K-cup and placing it over the top of the cup you actually want to use. For a more permanent solution, they demonstrate how to cut the important part of the lid off and tape it to the sensor. Both are super easy, so even if you don't want to go for the permanent method, you can feel free to buy "incompatible" cups. The one downside? This only seems to work on the 2.0 version of the machine.
