Cupboards and pantries can get pretty messy, making it hard to find things that you need. You can make it much easier to scan if you set it up so everything inside your pantry is visible when you open it.
Many cupboards suffer similar fates. They’re filled to the brim with food and spices, but half of it never gets used because it’s hidden behind stuff. Cambria Bold at The Kitchn has a rule that can help you avoid that: make sure you can see everything. Set up pull-out drawers, buy stackable containers, use lazy susans, or cascade items big to small from the back. You’ll always be able to instantly see what you have and everything will have a place it belongs. If you don’t have the room to do that, Bold suggests that’s a good thing because it forces you to toss stuff out. Do you really use everything taking space in your pantry anyway?
