Finding a decent bank or car insurance company is one of those hassles that shouldn’t be as hard as it is in the modern world. Cinch makes it simple by asking you a few questions and narrowing down your recommendations.
The site only handles banks, credit cards, and home or car insurance right now, but that’s plenty to get you started. In addition to finding new recommendations, you can also upload your existing bill to their BillSnap service and they can tell you whether or not you could be saving money elsewhere. According to Cinch, their recommendations are based on six questions to be as objective as possible:
- Is the product available where you live?
- Does it have a good reputation?
- Are they easy to do business with?
- Do they consistently offer good deals?
- Are the products worth it?
- What’s the best one for you?
If you want to get into more detail about how Cinch finds its recommendations, you can do so on their blog. They have explainer posts for how they get their recommendations for car insurance, credit cards, and more. Refreshingly, it’s fairly easy to see how these suggestions work behind the scenes.
