You can save money without much effort by cutting down what you spend. Garrett Gunderson suggests you label each expense as productive, consumptive, or destructive to know which ones to cut.
Essentially, you make a productive purchase when the money you put in gets you a return. For example, if you work from home and invest in a great desk and other equipment, you'll be able to work more efficiently and make more money. You make a consumptive expense when you spend on things that replenish your energy and well being—like vacations. Destructive expenses include when you incur unnecessary fees. Put each expense into one of these categories to help you figure out which ones you can cut back (hint: destructive expenses).
