What's New on Netflix the Week of December 30, 2019

2019 is dead and gone, and with it, we bid a bitter farewell to the dregs of Netflix’s streaming coffers, the meager end-of-year scraps they’ve been tossing our way these past weeks. 2020 starts with a bumper crop of modern classics that it’s hard not to be at least a little bit pleased by: we’ve got a slew of James Bond flicks (Tuesday), then Wednesday, January 1, Netflix blesses us with such perennial watchables as Chasing Amy, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Inception, Julie & Julia, both Kill Bills, Pan’s Labyrinth, The Talented Mr. Ripley (a personal favorite), and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. The Netflix Originals (tm) are not so hot this week, unless you’re an Anne With an E fan, but you’re pretty busy right now with your new year, new you gym regimen, so you’ll be fine.
