This year’s most-commented posts reveal how polarizing certain money topics can be. From the simple task of filling your gas tank to thinking about taxes and the presidential election, here are the Two Cents posts that garnered the most discussion this year.

If you weren’t upset over the idea of walking inside a gas station to pay for your fuel, you were up in these comments evangelizing for electric cars. I now fear being recognized in public while pumping gas.

This earlier post got a similar response, but with an additional dose of debit-card shaming. The pro-credit card and anti-credit card camps are both formidable.

When it comes to college costs, everyone seems to agree it’s too expensive. But it turns out way more difficult to agree whether college should be free or whether you should pony up for your own four years.
