Watch an Annular Solar Eclipse on the Other Side of the World Tonight

By | 1:32 PM Leave a Comment

A very special type of solar eclipse is happening tonight, but it will be on the other side of the world from the US, visible in the morning in Saudi Arabia, India, and Malaysia. Fortunately it will be livestreamed, so you can catch it from home at around 10:30 EST tonight.

The eclipse is an annular eclipse, meaning the moon will pass in front of the sun but not entirely cover it up. Instead, at the eclipse’s peak you’ll see a “ring of fire” where the sun shines around the edge of the darkened moon. Parts of Europe, Asia, and Australia will see a partial solar eclipse.

To watch the annular eclipse no matter where you are in the world, tune in to this livestream from CosmoSapiens. You’ll be able to watch starting at 8:30pm EST, and they say to expect the eclipse to begin at 10:30pm EST.
