When you plug in your iPhone, you get a very satisfying little chime letting you know that alls well. If you’d like to have that same sound effect on your MacBook, OS X Daily shows you how.

Your MacBook’s power cord already has a visual indicator showing that it’s plugged in, but adding a little sound effect is easy to do. Just open up Terminal (Applications > Utilities) and type this in then hit Return:

defaults write com.apple.PowerChime ChimeOnAllHardware -bool true; open /System/Library/CoreServices/PowerChime.app &

That’s it, go ahead and plug in your power supply and you’ll hear the same chime you get on iOS.
