Thread Needles Faster by Spraying Them With Hairspray

Threading a needle is a simple enough task, but it can be frustrating when the thread bends and frays, refusing to go through the needle's eye. Next time this happens to you, try spraying it with hairspray.

This easy tip comes from Real Simple, where they say a quick spray to the end of the thread will keep it from fraying. It stiffens the thread, too, allowing you to push it through the needle quickly, with minimal effort.

It also helps to move the needle toward the thread, rather than the other way around. I've licked the end of my thread to keep it from fraying, but this doesn't always work, as the thread still bends and resists.

It's not the worst inconvenience in the world, but it can be mildly annoying. And this is a simple enough tip for preventing it from happening. Real Simple has some other great tips for common household items, so be sure to check out the link.
