It’s ridiculous and also annoying how clothing sizes vary so much across brands. You could be a size 8 in one brand and a 4 in another. Fitbay’s new sizing tool helps take some of the guesswork out of finding out what size to choose.
First you’ll select the brand you’re interested in buying, then your gender, and the clothing category (e.g., jeans, shirts, jackets, etc.). Instead of putting in detailed body measurements, you then just select your body shape, height, weight, and age. (Not sure why age is included there, but whatever.)
You’ll then get the recommended clothing size for that brand and see Fitbay users who have a similar body profile as you.
We’ve mentioned Fitbay before, but previously it only showed you clothes that would likely fit you based on those body matches. They’ve taken the data of all their users who have input their sizing information to come up with this new sizing tool.
Of course, measuring yourself is a more exact way of ensuring a perfect fit, particularly if you’re shopping online and have access to size measuring charts, and tools like Find Your Fit (for women) use actual body measurements. This tool could still be a pretty good shortcut when you don’t know your exact measurements.
