Add HUD-Like Display Gauges to Action Camera Videos With the "Blackbox"

If you enjoy filming your adrenaline-infused adventures with an action camera, this data logging “blackbox”can record real-time data and then display it on your videos in post-production editing.

The blackbox data logger, from Instructables user fluxaxiom, can measure and record temperature, distance traveled, current speed, max speed, and even altitude. To build the blackbox, you’ll need an Arduino Mega 2560, some GPS antennas and loggers, as well as many other electronic components. Some basic soldering and coding is required, but when it’s all finished, you’ll have a box you can fit in a pocket or attach to your vehicle.
