If you plan to use strawberries to make a smoothie, save time by just tossing the whole thing into your blender. As long as you wash them well, you don’t have to spend time hulling them, or risk losing any of the good part—which you always do when you try to hull them.
After all, strawberry tops are edible, so there’s no reason to spend time hulling them for a blended drink like a smoothie. The other ingredients in your smoothie will mask the grassy taste of the tops and you won’t waste any delicious strawberry flesh. Make sure you wash your strawberries thoroughly to remove any dirt that might be caught in the tops and you’re all set.
