Wearing safety goggles in the workshop is a must, and these DIY lighted goggles from our friend Jude Pullen are a great way to stay safe while you work and get a little extra task lighting in there so you can see what you’re doing. Luckily, they’re super easy to make.
Jude shows you the process in the video above, but there are a few basic things you’ll need: magnets, key-ring lights that can be toggled on or off (instead of only being on when you hold them down), a pair of safety goggles you’re comfortable modding, and yes—some Sugru. The Sugru is essentially your adhesive, and used to attach the magnets to your glasses and to the back of the lights. This way they can be attached and removed easily if you want, without the whole thing looking like you just glued magnets to the outside of it. Plus, this method lets you adjust the lights independently and position them at any angle.
