Getting the best deals when you’re traveling is all about timing. Booking site Kayak crunched their numbers and found that in most US states, it’s best to book a rental car two weeks in advance for the best deal this summer.
For the most part, Kayak found that two weeks was generally the best time to book, but some cities buck that trend. For example, in Los Angeles, you can book last minute without much change, while in Washington, DC you’ll want to book three weeks in advance. Still, as a general rule, it seems like two weeks is you best bet. Head over to Kayak for the breakdown on a few other cities.
