Quickly Search Just Chrome Bookmarks or History with Custom Searches

Chrome: The Omnibar in Chrome is useful for searching your bookmarks, history, and the internet all at once. If you need to just search bookmarks or history, though, you can do so with a custom search.

Custom searches are nothing new. However, as Addictive Tips points out, you can create triggers to search just Chrome's history or bookmarks pages with a single URL. To do this, open Settings in Chrome and click "Manage search engines." From there, enter the name of the search and the keyword you want to use to trigger it and enter one of the following two URLs:

To search history, enter:

http://chromehistory/?#q=%s

To search your bookmarks, enter:

http://chromebookmarks/?#q=%s

And that's it! Now, when you use those keywords, you'll automatically be taken to either the bookmarks or history page with your search terms already entered. A lot handier than trying to type the right thing until it appears in the Omnibar.
