Universal remotes come in many flavors, from simple sticks to control a few devices to smart home-enabled monsters. Last week we asked you for your favorites, then looked at the five best universal remotes. Now we’re back to highlight your favorite.
Features, bells, and whistles weren’t enough to convince you to give up your old, reliable Logitech Harmony 650, one of Logitech’s last remaining “simpler” remotes, capable of controlling a handful of devices with its color screen and programmable activities. It’s budget-friendly price won you over as well, especially over models that cost nearly as much as the TV and gear they might control. It brought in just shy of 35% of the vote.
Hot on its heels in second place though was the flagship of the Logitech Harmony line, the Logitech Harmony One/Harmony Ultimate One, the current top of the line capable of controlling tons of devices but also featuring a bright, big touchscreen. It brought in just under 33% of the vote. Third place went to the Logitech Harmony Ultimate Home/Harmony Smart Control with 25% of the vote, largely thanks to its ability to control virtually anything in your home thanks to its included Hub. Fourth place went to the simple, cheap, RCA Universal Remote, with 6% of the vote, and bringing up the rear with 2% of the vote is the turn-your-smartphone-into-a-remote app, Touchsquid.
