Most everything gets more expensive with time. Knowing in advance what items are expected to see price hikes means you can stock up now. Deal News reveals a few products that will be pricier in 2015.
Deal News is a website that tracks and analyzes prices on items in a variety of categories. Based on their research, here are a few products set to be more expensive next year:
Olive oil: They explain that olive growers in Italy have called 2014 their worst harvest year in memory. As a result, Italy's olive oil output has decreased by 37%. And Spain, the top exporter to the U.S., has experienced a drought that's expected to increase prices across the globe.
Beef and pork: Bacon prices have hit an all-time high, Deal News reports, because of a greater demand. But they add that "Aside from increased demand, a pig-killing virus and higher feed costs have been causing the bacon and pork price hike." They say prices will continue to rise in 2015.
Coffee: A drought in Brazil led to higher prices among many popular coffee brands. And Deal News says it doesn't seem like this is going to slow down anytime soon. "Kraft Foods recently announced an approximate 9% price increase for Maxwell House, Yuban, Gevalia, and McCafe single-serve K-Cup packs."
