You don't need money to be happy. But studies do show that spending your money on certain things can make you feel satisfied. So how exactly does your spending affect your happiness?
Frugal nerds say this a lot, but I like to cut back on the stuff I don't care about so I can spend money on stuff I actually enjoy. This feels like I'm getting the most value out of my money. But what I find valuable might not be the same for you.
If you have spending money after paying your bills and expenses, what do you actually enjoy spending that money on? Or, maybe part of your bills and expenses do make you happy. For example, maybe you prefer to spend a little more on housing, because that makes you happiest.
