We often talk a lot about how much better third-party alternatives are, but that doesn't mean all first-party apps are trash. Apple, Microsoft, and Google all make some pretty stellar stuff, so let's take a second to appreciate them.
Default apps tend to get a bad rap because they're often feature-baron and don't allow for a lot of customization. That's not always a bad thing though, and a few default apps even buck that trend entirely. So, we'd like to put together a list of the default apps worth using. We'll get the list started with a few of our own picks, but we're more interested in yours. Here's how to submit your pick:
- List the name of the app: Include the app, operating system, and who makes it.
- Enter one app per comment and don't repeat: Let's keep this simple to read. Limit your pick to one app per comment. If someone else has already picked your favorite, give them a star and reply to theirs to boost it up.
- Tell us why it's awesome: Why is it better than the third-party alternatives? What's the one thing it does that no other app can do?
With that, let's get started.
