You’re almost done preparing Thanksgiving dinner when you realize you forgot to buy butter or you’re going to run out of wine a lot faster than anticipated. Or maybe you’re not attending a Thanksgiving celebration at all, but didn’t think about that whole eating thing until about now.
Thankfully for situations like those, a number of national grocery store chains are open today to help you pick up that last-minute item or entire Thanksgiving feast.
Aldi, BJs, Costco, Publix, Sam’s Club, and Trader Joe’s have all decided to shut down today, so you’re out of luck if you want to go to one of those.
These chains are open, although some with limited hours:
Acme
Albertson’s
Food Lion
The Fresh Market (7 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
Kroger
Meijer
Safeway (6 a.m. - midnight)
Stop & Shop
Wegmans
Whole Foods Market
Winn-Dixie (7 a.m. - 10 p.m.)
If you want to hit one of those chances are good you’ll be able to shop.
That said, your local store may have decided to break from the corporate mold, so you also might want to call before you drive over just to make sure they’re open and aren’t working shorter hours.
