Rdio is shutting its doors, but that doesn’t mean you need to lose that playlists forever. It’s a pretty easy process to convert and migrate those playlists from Rdio over to Spotify. Here’s how to do it.
Despite what you might think, converting playlists from one music service to another isn’t perfect. It takes a bit of work for software to properly match up one database with another. After trying a number of different options, I had the highest rate of success with Spotificator. Using it is easy:
- Head to Spotificator.
- Click the “Start” button and login with your Spotify account (if you don’t have one yet, create a Spotify account now).
- Select Rdio, and log into your account.
- Select the playlists you want to send to Spotify, and click “Export to Spotify.”
That’s it, Spotificator will do its thing and send those playlists over, giving you a breakdown of which tracks make it and which don’t. Anything that doesn’t, you’ll need to add to Spotify manually. I had about a 90% success rate with Spotificator, but your mileage will vary. If you’re having a lot of trouble with it, give another import service like Soundiiz a try, or give it a go manually with Ivy. If for some reason you’ve settled on Apple Music instead, check out Move to Apple Music.
