Combine a Snowblower and Lawn Tractor into a DIY Snow Plow

Shoveling snow is the worst, and snowblowers are most effective when you've got a ton of snow to move. For light snow days, though, a walk-behind snow plow is the best option. Here's how to build one starting with a basic snowblower.

Start by removing the auger, steel enclosure and entire front end of your snowblower. Then attach a snow plow attachment from a utility or lawn tractor. This is a custom build so you'll definitely need to fabricate part of the frame and do some welding.

The snow plow will require larger tires to propel it through the snow, so upgrade the tires to larger lawn tractor tires. These larger wheels and tires will also require you to upgrade the axles and add tire chains for better traction.

This post on TractorbyNet served as the inspiration for this build and you can see the snowplow in action by watching the video above.
