NS1, a leader in next generation DNS and application traffic management solutions, announced that it has expanded its operations into EMEA with a new regional headquarters in London.

This follows the announcement earlier this month that it raised a $33 million Series C venture round, led by Dell Technologies Capital, with participation from Cisco Investments and existing investors.

NS1 solutions provide application delivery and traffic control that is critical for revenue, business operations, automation, and the best user experiences to the most highly trafficked internet and enterprise applications.

The company — which has more than 450 major customers worldwide, including Guardian News and Media, LinkedIn, Dropbox and Pitney Bowes — has built a strong foundation in the UK in recent months and has doubled staff numbers across the EMEA region.

The recent funding will enable NS1 to quickly scale its market activities in EMEA, as well as globally, to meet the growing demand for next-generation application traffic solutions.

NS1’s EMEA operations are led by Mark Fieldhouse, who was appointed general manager EMEA in June 2019. Fieldhouse joined the team from New Relic, and has a strong background in business strategy, sales and operations. He will spearhead NS1’s growth in the region, leveraging over 25 years of experience in software and the wider tech industry.

“NS1 is growing rapidly and achieving a 100% satisfaction rating for customer support and services, so I feel that we already have a great springboard from which to introduce our solutions and services in EMEA,” said Fieldhouse.

“Our aim is for EMEA to represent 20-25% of NS1’s global revenue and, given the rapid adoption of hybrid and multi-cloud, edge computing, DevOps and microservices, there is an urgent need for modern traffic management solutions that can guarantee performance, security, and resiliency. This is where we are ahead of the pack with our game-changing technology.”

Building a channel

NS1 operates a global partner program and partner resource centre for systems integrators, managed service providers and resellers. A network of partners is currently being built in EMEA, and will be managed by a dedicated channel director.

The program is open to partners looking to capitalise on innovation in DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management, a trio of technologies that Gartner calls DDI. Ideal partners have robust service delivery offerings; provide solutions for cloud, DevOps or SD-WAN; or are selling application performance management solutions.

Crucial to the partner program, NS1 recently announced that it is part of the Cisco Security Technology Alliance (CSTA). This combines high-performance application delivery across the enterprise with security protection that seals off the communication pathways that attackers rely on.

As part of the new integration, Cisco Umbrella examines every NS1 DNS query originating from an enterprise network and stops connections to known or suspected malicious sites, protecting these organisations against DNS-focused attacks. NS1’s participation in CSTA, with a focus on the integration with Cisco Umbrella, will allow partners to drive further revenue.

“We are now actively building a channel network in EMEA that allows partners to take advantage of the growing demand driven by the crucial role that DDI plays across IT infrastructure, applications and online services,” commented Warren Mead, vice president of channel partnerships for NS1.

“Channel-driven organisations and value-added resellers will be instrumental to our growth in the region, and we are fully supporting our network with our licensing model and annuity revenue stream, plus additional benefits, including streamlined on-boarding and enhanced training.”
