No one likes chores, whether it’s your kids or your roommates. How do you motivate them? 3M, makers of the Post-It Note, suggest making a “Chore Bingo” to earn rewards for completing those chores.
You’ll need a 15x15 inch paper, a few small Post-It Notes, a ruler, and a pen. Obviously, 3M wants you to use their products, but you can use any other. Draw a 4x4 square on the large piece of paper, and then fill each square with a different chore. Best to make those chores age appropriate for kids too.
Now put your kids’ names on the small Post-It Notes and stick them to the edges of the poster. Every time a kid does a chore, they put their Post-It Note on the box. Then it’s just like playing Bingo! Get four in a row and they win a prize, which can be anything from earning some extra screen time to a raise in their allowance.
Of course, you can use this as adults too, adding different, more age-appropriate prizes., You can also increase the number of boxes to make the game more challenging, and even have more winning patterns, like four corners.
