SoundCloud is getting in on the passive listening game by adding stations you can listen to radio-style. Meanwhile in real life, Amazon is apparently planning to launch hundreds of actual, physical bookstores—just like the olden days.
- SoundCloud has a new radio feature on iOS and Android. Similar to Pandora, you can listen to stations based on search terms or a specific song and just sit back instead of hunting for each song. [9to5Mac]
- Poncho, the service that sends text and email alerts about the weather from a charming cat, now has an app. It’s part alarm clock, part forecast, so you can wake up to the weather—which by sheer coincidence is its name: Wake Up Weather. [TechCrunch]
- Amazon is going to be opening hundreds of real world book stores, reports CNBC by way of the Wall Street Journal. Life is a quizzical ouroboros and I’m going to hang out at the mall food court. [CNBC]
- Cutbacks hit Yahoo today as they let go 15% of their staff while the company essentially looks to sell some or all of its properties in a strategic restructuring. [Yahoo]
- Google’s OnHub routers are gaining the ability to set up guest networks, a feature that was conspicuously absent at launch. The new firmware should be available now through the Google On app. [Android Central]
