Gear Isle, an “adult novelties” business based in the San Francisco Bay area, is voluntarily recalling some of their viagra pills after the FDA found undeclared ingredients in them that could cause consumers to have health problems if they’re also taking certain medications.

The analysis by the FDA found traces of sildenafil and tadalafil, and although they are FDA-approved inhibitors to treat erectile dysfunction, they are not approved in these specific products. Because safety and efficacy procedures for these undeclared inhibitors haven’t been done, they’re considered unsafe, specifically for people who take nitrates from prescription drugs for diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease.

Which viagra pills are recalled?

The following are the one-count viagra pills that were distributed nationwide online via Gear Isle’s website and are being recalled:

According to the FDA, people who use nitrates for cardiac conditions and take these pills are the ones most at risk from adverse health effects, including life threatening drops in blood pressure. The FDA hasn’t received any official reports of illness or health problems from people taking these pills.

What to do if you have these viagra pills?

The FDA urges people to not take the pills and instead return them to Gear Isle for a full refund. Some people may have already received a letter via email warning them about the recall. If you have had any adverse health effects from taking the pills, contact your physician or healthcare provider and report it to the FDA here.

If you have more questions about the recall, you can call Gear Isle’s customer service at 888-387-4753 Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT, or email them at info@gearisle.com.
