Unshort.me Expands Short Links So You See Where You're Clicking

Web/Chrome: Misdirection via URL shortener may not be as common as it once was, but you still find people posting Goo.gl, fb.me, or bit.ly links in comment threads and on social networks claiming it's one thing when it's really another—or worse, malware. Unshort.me gives you a tool to see where you're really going before you click.

The site is simple. Just copy/paste the short URL into the text box, and let the site expand it for you. You get to see where you're really headed, and if the link is legit, you can continue on to the site in question. If not, you can close the window, confident that whatever ad, hijack, or malware you were headed to won't do you any harm. Hit the link below to try it out, or grab their Chrome extension to get the feature rolled in to your browser. Once installed, you can just right-click any short URL and click "Unshorten" to see the full URL.
