My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: The Blink Mini 2

It's been just a month since Amazon released the new Blink Mini 2, and it's already seeing 25% off its list price. For a limited time, you can get the Blink Mini 2 for $29.99 (originally $39.99), the lowest price since its release, according to price-checking tools.

The biggest upgrade from the first-generation Blink Mini is the ability to use it both indoors and outdoors. If you buy the $9.99 Blink Weather Resistant Power Adapter, you'll be able to use the weather-resistant camera outdoors (the power cable in the Blink Mini 2 box is not water-resistant). The field of view is now 143 degrees, compared to the 110 degrees from the previous model. The video quality is also better in low-light situations, with a built-in LED spotlight for color video at night. As far as hardware, the Blink Mini 2 now uses a custom-built chip, opening the doors to new features like smart notifications and person detection. Now, you'll be able to know via notifications whether the camera detects a person, pet, or package, so long as you have a Blink subscription plan (starting at $3 per month for one device and up to $10 for multiple devices).

The great thing about Blink is that you don't need a subscription plan if you don't want the features that come with it. With the Sync Module 2 ($49.99) you can use local storage instead of paying for cloud storage with the Blink subscription plan. Some bundles on sale include both the Blink Mini 2 and the Sybc Module 2. Keep in mind that you only get the AI features with the Blink subscription.
