Variety may be the spice of life, but you probably don’t want Salmonella in that mix. That’s why it’s a good idea to take a look at your spice collection today: Three popular seasoning mixes are being voluntarily recalled over possible Salmonella contamination, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports. Here’s what to know.

Which spices are part of the recall?

McCormick & Company, Inc. initiated the recall of four of their products. The possible Salmonella contamination was discovered during a routine FDA inspection, but at this point, no illnesses related to this incident have been reported. The products that are part of the voluntary recall include:

What to do if you own any of the recalled spices

At this point, McCormick has alerted customer and retailers who sold the products of the recall and instructed them to destroy any of the affected products.

If you’ve purchased any of the recalled seasonings, there’s no need to return them to the store. Instead, safely dispose of both the spices and their containers. To get a replacement, full refund, or ask any questions about the recall, consumers can call McCormick Consumer Affairs at 1-800-635-2867, weekdays from 9:30 am to 8:00 pm EST.
