Whether or not you believe in the supernatural, it’s fun to get your fortune read—or to read someone else’s. In this video Arthur Lipp-Bonewits, a professional tarot reader who began when he was 12, tells you how to practice reading the deck.
Once you get familiar with it, tarot reading is great for bonding with friends. While I’m an absolute skeptic and atheist, one of my fondest memories is when a close friend used a tarot reading to give relationship advice. Without assigning any supernatural energy to the cards, we found them an excellent communication tool.

So as Arthur recommends, read the manual, memorize the cards, build a narrative, and practice on everyone. If you get good enough at reading for people you know, you can even try on those you don’t.
