The a6000 is my personal camera of choice, with ludicrously fast autofocus, a good lens ecosystem, a small footprint, and a digital viewfinder that’s not terrible to use. It’s under $700 today with two lenses that together will more than cover the range you care about. Personally, I think it’s worth spending the extra $50 for the Paperwhite’s 300dpi screen and built-in reading light, but they both have access to Amazon’s vast ebook ecosystem, so you can’t go wrong either way.
