Right now, Sam’s Club is offering their basic tier membership for 50% off right now, which means you can get a year’s worth of wholesale shopping for just $25. And you can sign up online here, using code “C2C44" at checkout.

What is the difference between Sam’s Club’s membership levels?

Sam’s Club offers two different memberships: the Club and Plus. The Club, the store’s basic tier, is usually $50 a year and has everything the Plus tier does except for their cash back rewards program, free shipping on eligible online orders, and pharmacy and optical savings. You can see the full breakdown here.

The fine print

The offer is for new members only—and the terms say new members can’t have been a member within the past six months. (This also applies if you had their higher tier Plus membership.) The terms say you also accept their automatic membership renewal unless you cancel the membership 24 hours before your membership is due in a year. The offer is valid until Jan. 31, 2023, and you can read Sam’s Club’s full terms and conditions here.

Is a Sam’s Club basic membership worth it?

Before you even consider getting a membership, make sure you are willing to drive to one its 600 locations in the U.S. And of course, the other big consideration is whether you prefer to join Costco or BJ’s, which are Sam’s Club’s main competitors. They all have fairly similar products and deals, so it really comes down to convenience. If you already have a Costco or BJ’s membership, it’s unlikely it’ll make economic sense for you to also get a Club membership, too, even at the 50% discount, unless you’re planning to cancel the other membership.

Maybe now you’re wondering the age-old question: Is Costco really better than Sam’s Club? Luckily, we have the answer for you here.
