Put “Help” Instead of FWD In Your Email Subject Line

When you get an email that you need some help with, you might just forward the message. The body of the email then explains why you forwarded it. Putting "Help" in the subject line might get you a better response.

The Muse has some tips on writing better subject lines. Instead of using the default Forward in the subject line, which many of us instinctively devalue, changed the subject line to explain why you are forwarding the email:

write "Could you help me decipher this?" or "Looks like the client needs help." Sure, you may have planned to write that message in the body of the email, but the subject is a much better place if you want it to get noticed quickly.
