PieMessage Brings iMessage to Android, Using a Mac As a Server

Android/OS X: For those living in the Apple world, iMessage is a part of daily life. Once you jump ship, you’re SOL. PieMessage lets you keep using iMessage on Android, but you’ll need a Mac running a server to use it.

PieMessage isn’t exactly a quick fix. You’ll need to download an OS X server, and set up a Java Web Server. The developer refers to the project as a “super alpha prototype,” so don’t expect it to work out of the box. Still, given that cross-platform compatibility isn’t a priority for iMessage, it’s encouraging to see someone try.
