This Interactive Map Shows Where It's Illegal to Drive with Headphones, a Dog On Your Lap, and More

Driving laws in the United States can vary from state to state, and it’s tough to be sure if it’s legal to, for example, drive with a dog on your lap or with earbuds in (not that either are a good idea,) drive for Uber, or too slowly as well as too fast. This map shows you all of those, and more.

The map, from the folks at Just Park, lets you click through an animated map of the United States with bubbles for each state. As the headline changes, the bubbles change color to indicate whether an item is legal (green), inadvisable (yellow), or illegal (red.) Inadvisable activities can likely get you slapped with negligent or reckless driving charges depending on the discretion of a traffic officer, so if you see anything not green, we’d tell you to avoid doing it. That includes driving while tired, for example, or barefoot, or with your pup on your lap.

There are plenty more too—like whether it’s legal to drive for an escort service, past a funeral procession, in flip flops, or even a golf cart in the street. Hit the link below to try it out and see what’s legal and what’s likely to get you pulled over in your state.
